Pre-eclampsia is the most common of the serious pregnancy complications and affects about one pregnancy in 10; approximately 70,000 families each year. Nationally, almost 1,000 babies die every year as a result of pre-eclampsia. It also kills between three and four women annually. It is our aim to ensure that every pregnant woman and healthcare professional in the country is made aware of the signs associated with the disease.

We do this by distributing information packs to enquirers and sending leaflets and posters to every hospital and GP surgery in the country. We liaise with the media to keep pre-eclampsia in the news and we run a telephone advice line and hold regular study days for health professionals. We stay in contact with our supporters via our newsletters and mailings. We give talks at conferences and promote research into the causes of the disease.

We are the only organisation in the UK dedicated to easing and preventing suffering caused by pre-eclampsia and we are respected across the world for our work.
